Written by Sonics south side practice at Sharpstown is canceled for Thursday, July 26 due to the Celebration of Athletes event taking place at Discovery Green in downtown Houston this evening. All Sonics athletes are encouraged to come to the event at 6:00 PM; we will be meeting in front of the Hilton Americas hotel. Please wear your Sonics t-shirt or other team apparel if possible.

Junior Olympics Celebration of Athletes
As part of the multi-sport Junior Olympic Games coming to Houston next month, there is an opening ceremony of sorts being planned for Thursday, July 26 at 7:00 PM at Discovery Green, just across from the George R. Brown Convention Center, venue for several of the sports competitions.
More details will become available shortly and there will be discussions amongst the Sonics coaches and parents about coordinating some participation in this event involving Sonics athletes.
