For you families traveling to Virginia for the upcoming Junior Olympics, be sure to check out the Fun Pass, which offers a variety of discounts for local attractions. I suspect they will be including a Fun Pass flyer in the athlete packets, but if not, you can always refer to this link to get the details.
Raising funds to support your team has never been easier! Fiesta’s program lists common grocery items of which you can save the proof-of-purchase labels and turn them in to Coach Camille for redemption. Just print out the form and keep it handy in your kitchen as a reminder to check before discarding your empty packages.

Hello, Sonics family members! It’s time once again for our annual picnic at George Bush Park, Pavilion #3 on Sunday, September 21 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The team will be providing food and water; members from the north side are being asked to help by bringing chips/snacks and south side members desserts and other drinks and coolers. If you have any questions regarding what you should bring, please check with Coach Camille. It’s also advised that you bring mosquito repellent due to the recent infestation around the Houston area.
In case of rain, the make-up date will be the following Sunday, September 28 (Pavilion #2). Please RSVP to Monica Siverand, 832-922-3066.

Thanks to all of the Sonics family members who turned out last Saturday at Sharpstown High to pitch in for the food drive hosted by FM 97.9 The Box. By all accounts, it was a big success!
From Bert Bilton…
Good morning, Sonics family! Coach Goldy saw this promotion and thought it would be a great idea for the Sonics to get involved. As you know, Sharpstown High School has allowed us to practice on its track the past couple of years with little or no charge. We are not sure what will occur this coming school year, but we would like to show them our gratitude. Many students at Sharpstown, and within the Sharpstown community, struggle daily to provide food for their families. 97.9 The Box and IJustGotHit.com are joining forces to supply the food pantry with more goods. Let’s show our appreciation and suppor by showing up in full force with our Sonics shirts on and donate to the food pantry.
The event begins this Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 AM. If we can get as many people as possible to meet up at 10 AM, make a donation and be on our merry way! Coach Goldy will gather everyone in the parking lot and we will then make a group donation. The Sonics organization will donate the first $100 worth of canned goods. If you can bring along some additional canned goods, it will all go towards a worthy cause. Below is a list of preferred food donations and the attachment provides additional information about the event. Please email me, Bertran.Bilton@aliefisd.net, if you are able to participate. Thanks in advance for your support!
