Former Sonics Imani Nave and Jeremy Smith each came home with state championship medals from the recent UIL Track and Field Championship in Austin. Imani was crowned the champion in the 6A Girls 200 Meter Dash representing Klein High School. Her winning time was 23.66. Jeremy ran a leg on the winning Boys 4×200 Meter Relay for Marshall High in the 5A division.
UPDATE: Another former Sonic, Sabrina Blaschke, had a great showing in the 2A division. She took 2nd place in the long jump and was a member of Shiner High’s 2nd place 4×200 and 3rd place 4×100 relay teams.
