We regret to announce the passing of two members of the Sonics family. On December 23, Cynthia East, wife of coach Hosea East, passed away. Services will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 12:00 noon at Greenspoint Baptist Church. Her wake will be held on Friday, December 28 from 6 PM – 9PM at Carl Barnes Funeral Home
On Christmas day, Leonard Bell, father of Coach Ernest Bell and grandfather of Sonics athletes Brandy Thomas and Corriell Bell, passed away. Services will be held on January 5 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Galveston.
